Dubai FDI in the first five months of 2020

Dubai remains among the top global FDI destinations with the Emirate receiving 135 foreign investment projects during the January-May period.

Despite the global decline in greenfield Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) at the start of 2020 due to the pandemic, Dubai has maintained its leading position among the top three FDI destinations in the world during the first five months of the year, according to Financial Times FDI Markets stats.

Speaking about the efforts to attract FDI in the present circumstances, Al Gergawi added that Dubai FDI has launched a series of Virtual Investment Promotion Missions in co-ordination with investment promotion partners around the world to support the growth and expansion of FDI into Healthcare, Logistics, e-Commerce, Digital Economy; as well as new sectors, such as food and AgriTech, which are experiencing increasing interest from global investors. He also pointed out that Dubai ranked 7th globally in the ‘FDI Aerospace Cities of the Future 2020/2021’ report issued recently by the Financial Times’ FDI Markets, and ranked 2nd in FDI performance which shows that Dubai offers diverse attractive investment opportunities.
