Dubai Land Department reduces real estate registration procedures to one step

The Dubai Department of Land Resources (DLD) has appointed a new team, consisting of a manager and an auditor, to work directly in the trust property registration centers to provide customers with simple and flexible services.

This step is part of the determination and commitment to facilitate the early completion of real estate registration transactions and the creation of an appropriate investment climate for the real estate sector.

The service came into effect in early March 2020, where the team’s role is to provide technical support to the centers and provide customer support, while at the same time reviewing and completing their transactions. Thereby achieving the slogan `complete your transaction in one step through one channel’.

“As part of our relentless efforts to provide excellence following the highest standards applied globally where real estate registration is concerned, we have achieved this unprecedented success by developing an easy-to-use system that is available for all customers to obtain real estate registration services through which they can select and find the offices of trusted registration agents. These distinguished accomplishments will help strengthen Dubai’s position as the world’s preferred real estate investment destination, which supports all parties in the local property market to ensure their comfort and happiness,” says Majid Saqr Al Marri, CEO of the Registration and Real Estate Services Sector at DLD.

The process:

  • Starts with the sellers and buyers at the real estate registration trustee centers.
  • The required and valid legal documents must be submitted for review and approval as required.
  • Through the payment portal, DLD's fees are paid via a certified bank check, as well as, with the help of a trustee of the real estate registration.
  • After completing some of the necessary procedures, the registration trustee will issue the ownership of the new owner
  • In case any issues arise, the customer can register a complaint against the registration trustee center through their website, specifying its nature and providing any other details to handle the complaint and maintain the applicant's confidentiality.
