The 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is the first of four collection models of the Heritage Design series of the same name, which will arrive at dealerships this fall. The model’s distribution is limited to 992 copies. Exclusively for clients of the limited collection, the company has also developed a chronograph suitable for this style, which will also be released in a narrow batch.
The new model is ultra-modern and easily recognizable by the Porsche design elements of the late 50s and early 60s. While preserving the legendary appearance, it has been given a modern design/look and the most advanced technology from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.
The design of the model is a real journey into the history of the brand. The body of the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition will be presented in the main spectacular color of Cherry Metallic and four other additional colors. On the front fenders, there is an impressive racing graphic, “arrows”, referring to the significant past of motorsport. The 1963 Porsche coat of arms is applied to the front cover, steering wheel, wheel hub covers, ignition key, head restraints, and key case.
Another small but important detail is the iconic Porsche Heritage nameplate on the rear grille. In appearance, it resembles a Porsche 356 nameplate, which stood out after a run of 100,000 kilometers. So, there is still one element. Although, how much of it hints at past times, which is emphasized throughout the series.
The car interior, of course, is made according to the canons of modern design but also designed by considering the traditions. The first thing we see inside the cabin is the recognizable two-tone leather finish in Bordeaux Red or Black with Club OLEA leather in Atacama Beige. The corduroy material in the decoration of seats and doors one hundred percent reproduces the spirit of the era of the 50s, as the same material was used in the Porsche 356. The individual limited edition serial number is shown on the front panel.
Speaking of the technical equipment of the car, it is worth noting the latest help systems and infotainment functions. The drive is a 331 kW (450 hp) Biturbo boxer. The model is also equipped with an eight-speed gearbox with two clutches, which, combined with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the high-tech boxer engine can reach a top speed of more than 304 km/h and accelerates the 911 Targa (with Launch Control) from zero to 100 km/h in less than 3.6 seconds.
